Production Ecology; Pastoral Agroecosystems, Traditional Agriculture of Iran

My research has dealt mainly with production ecology of field crops and rangeland species under dry conditions with emphasis on the application of the elements of sustainability in agricultural ecosystems. I have been involved in teaching different aspects of ecological agriculture for the last 25 years and my literary activities include the publication of 67 scientific articles in national and international journals, proceedings and extension magazines (mainly in Farsi language in national journals) and translation of 45 scientific books on Agricultural Ecology and Sustainable Agriculture in dryland crop production into the Farsi language. Most of my scientific publications have dealt with the elements of sustainability in agriculture, particularly in traditional agroecosystems. Evaluation of farming systems, biodiversity of cropping systems, energy and nutrient flow in low input traditional agroecosystems are other aspects of my research interest.
